Hands that know what they are feeling for.
Manual therapy is skilled hands-on treatment. Joint mobilization to restore glide at a segment that has stopped moving. Myofascial release for tissue that has thickened and quit sliding on the layer beneath it. Manual traction to take load off an irritated joint or nerve root. Every technique gets chosen off what the exam found that day.
Two of our three clinicians are Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapists through the Manual Therapy Institute. That training is the difference between rubbing a sore spot and knowing which joint is not moving and why. Hands-on work opens a window. What we do with you inside that window is what makes the change stick.
What a hands-on session actually looks like.
We Find The Restriction
Your therapist moves the joint and feels for where it stops, how it stops, and what that does to your symptoms. That is the map. Nothing gets treated before we know what is actually stiff.
We Treat It, Then Retest
Mobilization, soft tissue work or traction, applied to what the exam found. Then we retest the same movement so you feel the difference yourself instead of taking our word for it.
We Load It Before You Leave
New range you do not use is range you lose. Before the session ends you are moving through that motion under load, so your nervous system has a reason to keep it.
What our patients say.
"I started seeing Dr. Andrew a couple of years ago when I was having hip pain. He has helped me tremendously, not just with that, but with other issues that have come up."San R. · Google Review
